Launch of Artichoke Wine by Macdara Woods


One of the best known names in contemporary Irish poetry, Macdara Woods has published numerous collections of poems since his debut in 1970. His latest collection from the Dedalus Press, entitled Artichoke Wine, will be launched at a reading in the Board Room, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, 123 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 on Wednesday March 29th, at 7.00 pm. Joining Woods will be composer Benjamin Dwyer, with the two performing their collaborative work, 'In the Ranelagh Gardens', the text of which is included in the book.

The launch will be performed by Paul Durcan.

Launch of Gas Light & Coke by Fergus Allen


On Tuesday 04 April 2006, the Dedalus Press is delighted to launch a new collection of poems by Fergus Allen, entitled Gas Light & Coke. Dublin-born Allen has lived in England for more than 50 years and has previously published three collections of poems with Faber and Faber. With the author due to give a rare Irish reading at the Damer Hall, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2 (commencing at 7.00 pm) on 04 April, therefore, the publication of Gas Light & Coke is a homecoming of sorts and one of the highlights of the Dedalus spring list.

The Enchanted Way: Sat 18 Feb 2006




On The Enchanted Way this Saturday evening (Sat 18 Feb 2006) poet and novelist Dermot Healy and Selina Guinness, editor of The New Irish Poets (Bloodaxe Books) discuss Sean Dunne's Collected (published by The Gallery Press) and Eavan Boland's New Collected Poems (published by Carcanet).

New Peppercanisters from Thomas Kinsella


The Dedalus Press is delighted to announce the publication of two eagerly-awaited new Peppercanisters from Thomas Kinsella, Marginal Economy and Readings in Poetry, both of which are now available in Ireland from the Dedalus Press, and in the UK from Carcanet.

Leland Bardwell and Desmond O'Grady

Two new titles by Leland Bardwell (The Noise of Masonry Settling) and Desmond O'Grady (On My Way), launched in Dublin on 08 February 2006, are now available from the Dedalus Press website.

The two books will also be reviewed by Hugh McFadden on The Enchanted Way, RTÉ Radio 1, on Saturday 26 February, at 8.00 pm, on a programme in which editor/publisher Noel King also talks about his recently published The Doghouse Book of Ballad Poems, published by the Doghouse Press.
